Blizzard hits Russia's Central Federal District

Russia's Central Federal District has been hit by a blizzard, reported Vestnik Kavkaza.

The region has been hit by strong winds and heavy snowfall caused by cyclone Daniella.

An amber storm warning is declared in the region.

Bad weather also delayed or cancelled over 80 flights in the country's capital city of Moscow.

The head of the Hydrometeorological Centre of Russia warned that freezing rain is likely in some regions of the Central Federal District.
