Cyber attacks on banks, government websites intensify over holidays

Cyber attacks on Turkish financial and government websites have intensified over the Christmas holidays, causing temporary disruptions in credit card transactions, reported RT.com.

Turkey has been under persistent cyber attacks in recent weeks. However, the nation's banks suffered a website outage and reportedly saw sporadic disruption to credit card transactions on Dec. 25. Local media reported that banks including Turkiye Garanti Bankasi A.S and Turkiye Is Bankasi A.S. were targeted.
