January reinsurance renewal rate decline may be less than initially expected

U.S.-based investment banking firm Keefe, Bruyette, & Woods Inc. expects the decline in the January 2016 reinsurance renewal rates to be better than initially expected despite pressures in the reinsurance market, reports Artemis.bm.

Most of the industry executives and experts expect the decline in the reinsurance renewal rate to be between 2.5% and 7.5%, said KBW. "We think decelerating rate decreases simply reflect reinsurer discipline," KBW said.
