Access to clean data is difficult as insurers sometimes use outdated programming or old technology, said Shaun Crawford, global insurance leader at Ernst & Young L.L.P. Other issues facing the industry include gathering and analyzing safe and protected data, system upgrading and digitalization of manual processes.
