BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Cross Insurance, an insurance agency subsidiary of Cross Financial Corp. based in Bangor, Maine, has acquired Boston-based Knapp Schenck & Co.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Knapp Schenck is a regional property and casualty retail insurance agency that provides insurance services focused on commercial and residential real estate ownership, management and development, construction, manufacturing, distributors and wholesalers, nonprofit organizations, municipalities and private schools, Cross Insurance said Monday in a statement.

Knapp Schenck will keep its name and continue to operate with the same professional staff and leadership, according to the statement.

“We look forward to combining forces and expanding our service offerings in Boston and the South Shore,” Royce Cross, CEO of Cross Insurance, said in the statement.
