A report by Fitch Ratings Inc. has said that Japanese nonlife insurers are expected to maintain satisfactory underwriting profit in 2016 as they increase premiums based on underwriting risks, Asia Insurance Review reports.
The exposures to catastrophe risks and domestic equities will continue to be the challenges for the insurers in 2016. Fitch has changed the rating outlook for the nonlife insurers from "Negative" to "Stable". Growth in premium is expected to be moderate in the financial year ending March 2017, said the rating agency.
