Over a third of corporate counsels hit by data breaches: Survey

A survey of in-house lawyers by the Association of Corporate Counsel has revealed that over a third of Australia's corporate counsels have suffered a data breach recently, reported ComputerWeekly.com.

Internal attacks and employee error were the most frequent reasons for breaches, while larger companies were the main targets, said the survey. Only 25% of Australian organizations have cyber security insurance, the survey revealed. Lawyers expect cyber risks to increase in 2016, said Tanya Khan, managing director of ACC in Australia.
