Reserve releases masking poor reinsurers' earnings: Moody's

Moody's Investors Service Inc. has said that the deterioration of earnings in the reinsurance sector is being “obscured" by positive reserve releases and lack of major catastrophe losses, reported Artemis.bm.

Thus, reinsurers' results look more positive than they actually are, said Moody's. The rating agency said that pressures in the reinsurance market in 2015 are set to continue into 2016.
