Cybercriminals likely to target ASEAN businesses

A report by U.S.-based security firm FireEye Inc. and Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. has said that businesses and governments in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations are expected to be targeted by cybercriminals, ComputerWeekly.com reported.

Of the organisations observed, 29% faced cyber attacks in the first half of 2015.

The hardest hit nations were Thailand and the Philippines.

Advanced persistent threat "is not new, but it is worth highlighting that it is becoming an increasing concern for ASEAN countries," said an official.
