The capacity of the Indian Market Terrorism Risk Insurance Pool is likely to increase with a rise in global terror incidents, reported Business Standard.
Insurance officials have said that the size of the pool is likely to go up to 18 billion Indian rupees ($270 million) from the current INR 15 billion.
"The pool size is likely to be raised in 2016 with the rise in terror activities and India facing higher terror risks," said an official.
Officials said that claims worth INR 30 million are paid yearly on an average.
