Lloyd's performance management director to exit in 2016

The director of performance management at Lloyd's of London, Tom Bolt, has decided to leave his post in mid-2016, Lloyd's announced Thursday.

Lloyd's said the search for a successor to Mr. Bolt, who was appointed in 2009, will begin immediately.

The director of performance management is responsible for the commercial oversight of the Lloyd’s market and works with individual syndicates to improve the market’s overall performance.

“Tom has made an outstanding contribution to the strength and success of the Lloyd’s market as it is today,” Lloyd’s CEO Inga Beale said in a statement.

“He is respected and admired in the market, working closely with the underwriting community to ensure that the Lloyd’s market can flourish in what have been challenging times. I have enjoyed working alongside Tom immensely and wish him every success in the future,” she added.

“Working at Lloyd’s has been a highlight of my career, and the decision to leave a difficult one,” Mr. Bolt said in the statement. “I have enjoyed working alongside the market and my team at Lloyd’s, and proud of what we have achieved together. However the time is now right for me to hand over the reins and explore new opportunities.”

Prior to joining Lloyd's six years ago, Mr. Bolt was managing director at Marlborough Managing Agency. Before that, he held senior roles at Berkshire Hathaway Inc.'s insurance and reinsurance divisions.
