Bushfires cause $72 million in damage

Bushfires in the Australian state of South Australia have caused $100 million Australian ($72 million) in damage, reports Daily Mail citing Australian Associated Press.

The fires have burned through 85,000 hectares in the state. Fires in and around the state's Pinery region damaged 87 houses and 321 farming sheds. The blaze killed an estimated 16,000 sheep and around 2,000 pigs in one of the largest pig farms in the state. The Insurance Council of Australia said that it has received insurance claims totaling AUD 61 million so far.
