Officials extend partial lockdown of Brussels amid terror attack fears

Officials in Belgium have decided to extend a partial lockdown of the nation's Brussels city amid fears of a terrorist attack similar to that of the recent Paris attacks, reports NDTV citing the Washington Post.

The city is on its maximum terrorism alert level.

Schools and metro have been shut in the city.

Streets were shut down in the city as the police carried out 19 raids.

Belgian security forces made over a dozen arrests in the raids across Brussels as they hunted down suspected Islamic State terrorists.
