Indonesian ferry sinks off Surabaya port

An Indonesian ro/pax ferry Wihan Sejahtera listed, capsized and sank just a quarter mile off the country's Surabaya port, reported The Maritime Executive.

More than forty heavy trucks and a variety of smaller vehicles were aboard the ferry.

The ship began taking on water soon after leaving the berth, local media said, adding that the ferry's crew turned it to head back to the dock immediately.
