New Jersey workers compensation advisory rates will remain unchanged for 2016, the state’s Compensation Rating and Inspection Bureau said.

The New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance last week approved the rating bureau's recommendation to keep workers comp rates flat next year, the Newark, New Jersey-based bureau said Friday in a statement. The rate filing is effective Jan. 1.

The rating bureau noted that New Jersey workers comp benefits are set to increase next year. The maximum weekly benefit range for cases involving permanent partial disabilities will be raised to a range of $232 to $871, depending on the disability’s duration. That’s up from a range of $228 to $855 currently paid for permanent partial disabilities.
