PwC exec calls on insurers to embrace sustainability

Arthur Wightman, the Bermuda leader and insurance leader at PwC, holds that the insurance industry could benefit from embracing the 17 United Nations sustainable development goals, reports The Royal Gazette.

“This is a role where the value of reinsurance is critical. The challenge is how the industry collaborates, invests, innovates and perseveres for long term good. On the other hand, in creating a positive outcome for society, the outcome for the industry could be transformational from a commercial standpoint,” said Mr. Wightman, ahead of the 10th annual Bermuda Reinsurance Conference.
