Hackers target bidders competing for Australian submarine contract

Cyber attacks have targeted all three bidders competing for an Australian submarine contract worth $50 billion Australian ($35.21 billion), reports The Japan Times citing media reports.

Highly confidential technical requirements for the Royal Australian Navy's new submarines have been provided to the three submarine builders in Germany, Japan and France.

"We have about 30 to 40 (hacking) attempts per night, that's what our IT people say," said an official at German shipbuilder ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems GmbH.
