Cyber attacks threatening U.K. national security double in one year

U.K.'s Government Communications Headquarters has said that cyber attacks that threaten national security have doubled in a year, reported The Telegraph.

GCHQ is identifying 200 cyber attacks each month that either target critical organizations and networks or come from significant sources.

The figures relate to attacks or attempted attacks that pass of a threshold of seriousness for the GCHQ.

This could include attacks on critical national infrastructure, nuclear establishments, or significant attacks for key groups.

Officials have also warned that advanced hacking technology is increasingly available "off the shelf" online.
