Quake hits central Chile

A 6.8-magnitude earthquake has hit central Chile, reported International Business Times citing The Associated Press.

The quake is part of a string of aftershocks from an 8.3 magnitude earthquake that hit off Chile's coast on Sept. 16, said an official.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the latest quake hit 30 miles southwest of the country's Ovalle city at a depth of 22 miles.
