Volcanic eruptions shutter airport

The government of Indonesia has shut down the Bali airport following volcanic eruptions on Mount Rinjani on a nearby island, said Indonesia's meteorological agency, Daily News & Analysis reported.

The agency also said that the Ngurah Rai airport in Bali and Selaparang airport in West Nusa Tenggara will be closed and reopened after the situation improves. The agency said, "Tremors due to volcanic activities are continuously recorded and potential of more eruption is still high."
