Volkswagen says carbon dioxide emissions 'inconsistencies' found in 800,000 vehicles

Volkswagen A.G. said that an internal investigation has shown "unexplained inconsistencies" in the carbon dioxide emissions from its 800,000 vehicles and this could cost the automaker another €2 billion ($2.2 billion), reported The Associated Press.

This is the latest problem identified with Volkswagen emissions.

The automaker has said that the 800,000 were "predominantly vehicles with diesel engines."

This statement has raised the possibility for the first time that some of its vehicles with gasoline-powered motors may also have emissions problems.
