Chinese insurers' profits up about 95% in first 9 months

The China Insurance Regulatory Commission said that profits of the country's insurers totaled 244 billion Chinese yuan ($38.4 billion) in the first nine months of 2015, up about 95% year on year, reported Xinhua.

The CIRC said that the insurance sector's revenues from premiums increased 19.5% to CNY 1.9 trillion ($299.06 billion) during the period.

Foreign insurers registered a 27.3% growth in premium volume and their business constituted 4.5% of the Chinese insurance market.
