License to conduct retakaful business to boost Malaysian Re's product offering in MENA

Zainuddin Ishak, chief executive of Malaysian Reinsurance Bhd., has said that the reinsurer's license to conduct retakaful business will boost its product offerings in the Middle East and North Africa region, Middle East Insurance Review reported.

Malaysian Re received approval from Malaysia's central bank in April to conduct retakaful business. Mr. Ishak said that "Malaysian Re will be able to offer both conventional and takaful products" in the MENA region with this retakaful window.
