Swiss Re names reinsurance president for Latin America

Swiss Re Ltd. has appointed Urs Baertschi as reinsurance president for Latin America, reports BNamericas citing insurance magazine Apolice.

Mr. Baertschi will take up the new role from January 2016.

He is currently the managing director of the principal investments and acquisitions departments of Swiss Re for the Americas region.

Mr. Baertschi will be a member of the reinsurer's Americas management team and will report to Swiss Re's president and CEO Eric Smith.
