Japanese insurers offering liability insurance in Myanmar

The Myanmar Insurance Business Supervision Committee has permitted three Japanese insurers to provide liability insurance in the country's Thilawa Special Economic Zone, reported Eleven Myanmar.

Japan's Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance Inc., Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co. Ltd. and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co. Ltd. have licenses to operate in the SEZ.

Foreign insurers were allowed to offer only life, fire and all-purpose vehicle insurance until now.
