BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.
To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.
To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.
Beazley P.L.C. said Tuesday that it has launched Beazley Workplace Protect, a policy that protects employers accused of denying employees appropriate compensation under U.S. labor laws.
According to London-based Beazley, wage and hour lawsuits are on the rise due to new employment practices and the Wage and Hour Division of the U.S Department of Labor issuing new guidance.
Beazley Workplace Protect provides employers wage and hour coverage and employment practices liability insurance for discrimination allegations, harassment and retaliation, and privacy violations. The coverage also includes outside directors and third-party wrongful acts, according to a Beazley statement.
Additionally, Beazley Workplace Protect customers are given access to online platform BeazleySure, which provides policyholders risk management support. This includes sexual harassment prevention training, a telephone hotline, and procedures in English and Spanish, according to the statement.
“Today even the most informed and diligent employer runs the risk of a legal challenge from either collective actions or individual employees. We have designed Beazley Workplace Protect to safeguard organizations from well-established risks such as harassment and discrimination, along with emerging threats arising from the continuing structural changes to the U.S. labor market,” Wayne Imrie, London-based management liability underwriter, said in the statement.
Proposed rules for states to set up auto-enrollment IRA savings programs for private-sector employees were submitted for interagency review by the Department of Labor on Wednesday.
