Endorsement rewards self-insured policyholders for reducing stop loss ratio

New York-based QBE North America said Monday that it has launched QBE Rewards, a medical stop loss experience refund product through its accident & health division.

QBE North America’s accident & health division provides coverage and services to self-insured employers.

The QBE Rewards policy endorsement allows self-funded employers to reduce the cost of stop loss by returning a portion of surplus specific premium, according to a QBE North America statement.

“Accounts electing the QBE Rewards option will receive a 25% return of the specific stop loss premiums net profit, if a net loss ratio of 65% or less is achieved. Rewards can be returned directly to the employer or applied as an offset to future QBE medical stop loss premiums,” Steve Gransbury, president of accident & health at QBE said in the statement.
