Insurers expect hit from Volkswagen's D&O liability insurance claims

Insurance industry officials have said that directors and officers liability insurance could see the biggest damage claims stemming from Volkswagen A.G.'s U.S. emissions tests scandal, reported Reuters.

The scandal has forced the German automaker's chief executive to resign. Insurers and brokers said that a company as big as Volkswagen would typically purchase D&O cover worth about €500 million ($556 million).
