The Mechanic Group Inc. said Tuesday that it will offer commercial liability insurance, including errors and omissions for background screening firms in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.

The liability coverage is designed for private security, investigative, alarm and background screening risks, according to a spokesman for the Pearl River, New York-based The Mechanic Group.

It is underwritten by Allied World Assurance Co. Holdings A.G. The available limits are up to $11 million through The Mechanic Group and $20 million through Crum & Forster Enterprise, according to the spokesman.

The coverage includes errors and omissions, assault and battery, and board form property damage. It covers liability created by the intentional acts of an employee regardless of the use of force in cases of assault and battery. It covers property damage in client’s care as a part of its board form property damage coverage, according to a The Mechanic Group statement.
