Volkswagen emissions scandal likely to affect 11m vehicles
Posted On: Sep. 23, 2015 12:00 AM CSTGerman automaker Volkswagen A.G. has said that 11 million of its vehicles worldwide could be affected by a scandal over cheating U.S. vehicle emission tests as investigations of its diesel models multiplied, reported Reuters.
Volkswagen said that it will reserve €6.5 billion ($7.27 billion) to help cover the costs of the scandal.
The automaker said that this amount is likely to increase.
The United States Environmental Protection Agency said that it could impose a fine of up to $18 billion on Volkswagen for cheating emissions tests.
