Hamilton Re to enter property insurance market, chief executive says

Kathleen Reardon, chief executive of Bermuda-based Hamilton Re Ltd., the reinsurance unit of Hamilton Insurance Group Ltd., has said that the reinsurer will enter property insurance market, reported The Royal Gazette.

Ms. Reardon also said that "a star casualty underwriter" will join her team from a Lloyd's of London syndicate soon. Hamilton Insurance Group's main focus is on writing "volatile severity driven" business, "organic growth" and looking for greater diversity, she said.
