Serious cyber attacks on pace to nearly double this year

Data from New Zealand's Government Communications Security Bureau has shown that serious cyber attacks against firms and agencies have almost doubled in the country, reported The New Zealand Herald.

Data showed that the GCSB's National Cyber Security Centre recorded 147 incidents in 2014. The center has recorded 132 incidents in the first half of 2015. "We expect that by the end of 2015 this figure will be in excess of 200," Ms. Jagose said. "Of the incidents recorded so far in 2015, 79 were reported by government agencies," added Ms. Jagose.
