Mapfre Re opens branches in Malaysia and Singapore

Mapfre Re Compania de Reaseguros S.A. has opened two new branches in Malaysia's Labuan and Singapore, a move aimed at strengthening its reinsurance business in Asia, reported Asia Insurance Review.

The Malaysia branch has been operational since early 2015, while the Singapore branch will start operations in September.

Andres Lorenzana will be responsible for these branches.

"We're looking to develop more platforms in the Asian region and we'll remain consistent in our approach, which is to be technically sound and develop long-term relationships with our clients," said Mapfre Re general manager Eduardo Perez.
