Cyber attacks may shift liability toward manufacturers of autonomous cars: Experts

Experts have said that cyber attacks or faulty software may shift the burden of legal and regulatory liability toward manufacturers of autonomous cars, prompting insurers and regulators to develop new models, reported Reuters.

"Although accident rates will theoretically fall, new risks will come with autonomous vehicles," said an official at Zurich Insurance Group Ltd.

Software and connected cars are presenting new opportunities for insurers to modify policies to clients.
