Typhoons and drought due to El Nino to affect Asia this fall

Typhoons and intensifying drought due to El Nino phenomenon will affect over one billion people in southeastern Asia in the fall of 2015, reports AccuWeather.com.

The 2015 typhoon season is on pace to beat average numbers.

The greatest threat of typhoons in September and October "will be across Taiwan, China, the Korean Peninsula and Japan," said a meteorologist.

El Nino is also expected to cause an earlier or faster-than-average shutdown of the monsoon.

"Drought building in part of Indo China, Malaysia and Indonesia will get worse this fall," said another meteorologist.
