Industry premium volume leaps 23%
Posted On: Aug. 31, 2015 12:00 AM CSTData from Vietnam's Insurance Supervisory Authority of the finance ministry has shown that total insurance premium revenue increased 23% year on year to 24.9 trillion Vietnamese dong ($1.1 billion) in the first five months of 2015, reports Asia Insurance Review.
Nonlife insurance premiums totaled an estimated VND 12.3 trillion, up 14.5% year on year. PetroVietnam Insurance Corp. was the market leader in the nonlife market in terms of premiums. PVI's premium income increased 7.9% to VND 2.565 trillion during the period.
