BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

State comp bureau recommends rate cut for public employers

The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation has recommended a 9% cut in workers compensation rates next year for public employers in the state, the agency said Friday.

The proposed rate decrease would benefit about 3,800 local governments, school districts and special districts in Ohio, the bureau said in a statement. If approved, the rate cut would take effect Jan. 1.

The bureau is Ohio's monopoly workers comp insurer, providing coverage to more than 254,000 Ohio employers, according to the bureau's website. The agency's board of directors is to vote on the rate decrease at its next meeting on Sept. 24.
