Pirates target six vessels in Malacca and Singapore Straits

The Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia has said that six vessels were targeted by pirates in the Malacca and Singapore Straits on Aug. 21 and Aug. 22, reported Seatrade Maritime.

A bulk carrier, two containerships and three tankers were the targeted vessels.

"Of concern was their persistence in 'hovering' in the vicinity seeking out their next target," said ReCAAP.
