Cyber attacks on Dutch government double in last two years

Data from the National Cyber Security Center of the Netherlands has shown that cyber attacks against the country's systems and websites have doubled in the last two years, reports NL Times citing the Volkskrant newspaper.

The NCSC received 293 reports of attacks against government systems and websites During the year ended May. There has been a considerable rise in attacks on businesses as well. An increased use of cryptoware has been reported in the last few months. The hackers use cryptoware to lock files on computers and then demand money in return for unlocking the files.
