BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Specialty insurance broker Alliant Insurance Services Inc., Newport Beach, California, has named Robert Bennetsen to head its Alliant Americas middle market division, the company said in a statement Thursday.

As executive vice president and senior managing director based in New York, Mr. Bennetsen will lead Alliant's effort to expand its presence in the middle market through strategic acquisitions and organic growth, according to the statement.

“The middle market represents a significant area of opportunity for Alliant and its growing roster of clients,” Tom Corbett, chairman and CEO of Alliant, said in the statement.

Mr. Bennetsen replaces Sean McConlogue, president of Alliant Specialty Insurance Services, who remains with the company.

Mr. Bennetsen was previously executive vice president and managing director of Alliant Employee Benefits, overseeing its Northeast operations, said the statement.

“Our powerful national platform and vast resources position us to offer a fully integrated approach to servicing midsized businesses,” Mr. Bennetsen said in the statement.

Alliant launched Alliant Americas in January 2014 as a dedicated middle market platform and is “currently engaged in an aggressive expansion campaign,” the statement said.
