Underwriter launches miscellaneous professional liability coverage

ANV Underwriters, the Jersey City, New Jersey-based international managing general underwriter arm of global specialty insurance group ANV, has launched a North American miscellaneous professional liability product and team.

The Jersey City-based team led by John Birkhofer will underwrite MPL for the U.S. market, ANV said Wednesday in a statement. The team will focus on MPL, middle-market primary risks and follow-form excess liability for middle market and larger accounts, according to the statement.

“Miscellaneous professional liability forms a significant part of the account portfolio for most of our wholesale brokers,” Peter McKeegan, director of U.S. financial lines for ANV, said in the statement. “Being able to service the needs of our brokers with both management liability and professional liability products within one group has been a main objective of ours in making ANV a key specialty lines carrier in the U.S. market.”
