Two volcanic eruptions prompt closure of airports in Indonesia

Three airports have been shut down in Indonesia due to eruptions at two volcanoes in the country, reported The Associated Press.

Volcanic ash spewing from Mount Raung volcano has prompted closures of Juanda International and Abdul Rachman Saleh airports, said a spokesman for the country's transport ministry. The eruption of Gamalama mountain volcano forced the closure of Sultan Babullah airport in Ternate Island. An earlier eruption of Raung had forced Ngurah Rai airport in Bali to shut down along with four other airports in the region.
