Half of small businesses open to cyber attacks: Study

A study by U.S.-based CSIdentity Corp. has found that 52% of small businesses in the United Kingdom are not taking any steps to protect themselves against cybercrime, reported Smallbusiness.co.uk.

About 85% of the firms said that they are not planning to increase their security budgets, the study found. Only 53% of the respondents said that they were concerned about reputation damage in event of a data breach. A recent survey by PricewaterhouseCoopers L.L.P. also found that 74% of small firms have experienced a security breach in 2014.
