Insurance regulators postpone global capital rules

The Insurance Capital Standard, capital rules for global insurers, will be postponed by around a year as global insurance regulators examine feedback from the latest round of consultation with the industry, Swissinfo.ch reported citing Bloomberg.

The International Association of Insurance Supervisors originally planned to release a global Insurance Capital Standard in 2016.

Felix Hufeld, chairman of IAIS' executive committee, said that both the first and second version of the capital rules that apply to about 45 insurers will be postponed to 2017 and 2019.
