A recent cyber attack may have compromised seven years of incident and payroll reports filed by employers and workers, North Dakota Workforce Safety & Insurance said.

Workforce Safety & Insurance, North Dakota’s insurer of last resort, learned last week that a security breach occurred on its server, according to a statement released Friday by the insurance department.

Though no injured worker claim information was on the compromised server, it contained 43,000 incident reports and 13,000 payroll reports filed by employers and workers from 2006 to 2013, the statement says.

The server also contained Social Security numbers and “other identifiable information” of workers and employers, according to the statement.

“As of now, there is no evidence that the cyber attacker moved any of this data off the server or duplicated any of this personal information,” Workforce Safety & Insurance said in the statement.

The department said that it is working with “a nationally recognized company” that specializes in identity repair services, and that any affected individuals will have access to free identity repair services from the company for one year, according to the statement.
