Bird flu affected over 35 nations since 2014

The World Organization for Animal Health said that bird flu epidemic has affected more than 35 nations since early 2014, reported Reuters.

Tens of millions of poultry have been lost due to the epidemic.

The H5N8 strain of avian flu virus was discovered in Korea and China in early 2014, and later spread to Japan.

"From there the strain probably spread with migratory wild birds to India, Europe, Canada and later the United States of America," said the organization.
