Data breaches to cost global businesses up to $2.1 trillion by 2019: Report

U.K.-based Juniper Research Ltd. has said in a report that data breaches would cost businesses up to $2.1 trillion globally by 2019, reported SC Magazine UK.

Currently, the global average cost of a cyber attack is likely to be $6 million, Juniper said.

The firm estimates this cost to be higher in North America and Western Europe.

With more business infrastructure getting connected, the average cost of a breach would top $150 million by 2020, the report said.
