Volcanic eruption closes airport in Costa Rica

An eruption at the Turrialba volcano in Costa Rica's Cartago province has prompted civil aviation and airport officials to suspend flight operations at the country's Juan Santamaria International Airport, reported The Costa Rica Star.

This is the third time that the airport has been shut down due to the volcanic eruption.

Ash and smoke from the volcano have reached extended two kilometers in the air.
