Florida insurance agency names vice chairman

D. Michael Sherman has been appointed to the newly created position of vice chairman of AssuredPartners Inc., the Lake Mary, Florida-based independent insurance agency said Tuesday.

Mr. Sherman will focus on leadership development and continued expansion of AssuredPartners, the company said in a statement.

Mr. Sherman is based in Naples, Florida, and reports to AssuredPartners Chairman and CEO Jim Henderson.

Mr. Sherman also will continue as chairman and CEO of Dawson Cos., an AssuredPartners platform company with offices in Florida, Ohio, North Carolina and Virginia. Mr. Sherman joined Dawson in 1978.
