Sea piracy and armed robbery increase
Posted On: May. 1, 2015 12:00 AM CSTThe Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia has reported a total of 38 piracy and armed robbery incidents in Asia in the first quarter of 2015, Ship Technology reports.
The figure is higher than the 29 incidents reported during the same period in 2013. Of the total, four were piracy incidents and 34 were armed robberies. ReCAAP said that all the four piracy incidents were reported in the South China Sea.
